## Description

**Library Management System (LMS)** turns your WordPress site into a complete, working
library. Catalogue your books, register your borrowers, issue and return copies,
collect late fines, print receipts, and give every member their own portal — all
without writing a single line of code.

Most book plugins give you a list of titles. If you are searching for the **best
library management system plugin for WordPress**, the difference here is scope:
master records, copy-level tracking, a full circulation workflow with fines and
receipts, member self-service, migration tooling and a public catalogue — presented
in a distraction-free workspace with dark and light modes.

It ships in three editions — **Free**, **Basic PRO** and **Full PRO** — so you begin
at no cost and move up only when your collection genuinely outgrows the edition
you are on.

### Why Choose Library Management System?

📚 **A catalogue that reflects your actual shelves** — Categories, publications,
authors, languages, bookcases, sections and branches are all first-class records,
defined once and reused everywhere. A single title can carry several authors and
several languages, so translations, co-authored works and multi-edition holdings
stay accurate instead of being squeezed into one field.

🔄 **Circulation handled end to end** — Issue and return titles through a structured
loan transaction, record the condition a book comes back in, calculate overdue charges
against your own fine rate, and hand the member a receipt at the counter.

👥 **Members who can serve themselves** — Every borrower gets a signed-in portal
for searching the catalogue, reviewing current and past loans, and retrieving receipts.
Permission settings decide exactly how far that access reaches.

🎨 **An interface your staff will actually use** — A full-width, distraction-free
workspace with dark and light appearance modes, adjustable theme colours and typography,
and a responsive layout that holds up at the issue desk, on a tablet in the stacks,
or on a phone.

📤 **Your data stays yours** — Every listing exports to Excel, CSV or PDF, and every
module supports CSV import and export. Migrating a spreadsheet-based catalogue in,
or pulling figures out for a board report, is never a barrier.

🌐 **A public face for your collection** — Publish your holdings to any page or
post with a flexible shortcode, narrowed to the categories, authors or specific
titles you want on display.

🌍 **Configured for your institution** — Country, currency and fine-rate settings,
with the interface available in English, Hindi, Italian, Spanish and French.

🚀 **Evaluate before you commit** — Install demonstration data in one click and
explore a fully populated library before entering a single real record.

🛡️ **Built the WordPress way** — Capability checks, nonces and sanitisation throughout,
so the plugin behaves predictably alongside the rest of your site.

### Perfect For

✔ Schools, colleges and universities
✔ Coaching institutes and training centres
✔ Community, public and church libraries ✔ Corporate, research and departmental
libraries ✔ Clubs, societies and private book collections ✔ Anyone who wants the
best library management system plugin for WordPress without a monthly SaaS bill

### ✨ Free Version — What You Get ✨

The free edition is a working library system in its own right, not a preview of
one.

**A Workspace Built for Library Staff**
 * A full-width, distraction-free portal
that keeps circulation work on one screen instead of scattering it across WordPress
sub-pages * Dark and light appearance modes, with theme colour and typography controls
so the system carries your institution’s identity * A card-based dashboard that
surfaces stock levels, membership figures and open loans the moment you sign in *
Considered empty states with a rotating quote panel, so a fresh install reads as
ready rather than broken * A responsive layout that stays usable at the issue desk,
on a tablet during shelf checks, and on a phone

**Cataloguing That Matches Real Collections**
 * Dedicated master records for categories,
publications, authors, languages, bookcases, sections and branches — entered once,
reused everywhere * Masters are created automatically as you type them into a book
form and immediately become suggestions across the system * A title accepts several
authors, so edited volumes, translations and co-authored works are recorded accurately
rather than flattened into a single name * A title also accepts several languages,
letting one entry represent every edition variant you actually hold * Tag-style
categorisation places a work under every subject it genuinely belongs to * Copy-
level tracking with unique accession numbers, so each physical item remains individually
identifiable * Full bibliographic detail per title: ISBN, cover image, stock and
description

**Membership Records**
 * Complete borrower profiles covering contact, membership
and branch details * Each profile opens onto that member’s current loans, answering“
who has this book?” without a separate search * Branch association keeps statistics
meaningful across multiple locations

**Circulation and Charges**
 * Structured issue and return handling for every loan,
with the condition of each returned item recorded at the desk * Overdue charges
calculated automatically against the fine rate you set * A downloadable receipt
issued on return, giving the member proof of settlement and your desk an audit trail*
Complete borrowing and return history retained for every title and every member

**The Member Portal**
 * A signed-in self-service area where members search the
catalogue and filter it on the criteria that matter to them * Members review what
they currently hold, what they have already returned, and retrieve their own receipts*
Access is permission-driven, so you decide precisely which areas each member reaches*
Administered entirely from the WordPress side — no separate system to maintain

**Data Portability**
 * Any listing exports to Excel, CSV or PDF for audits, stock-
taking and board reporting * CSV import and export on every module, so an existing
spreadsheet catalogue can be brought across in minutes * One-click demonstration
data for evaluating the system, training staff or piloting a workflow before going
live

**Public Presence**
 * A shortcode that publishes your holdings on any page or post,
with attributes to narrow the display to a category, an author or specific titles*
Paginated browsing, filtering and a full detail view for every work

**Regional and Language Settings**
 * Country, currency and fine-rate configuration*
Public page display and shortcode behaviour under your control * Interface available
in English, Hindi, Italian, Spanish and French

### Limitations of the Free Version

The free edition is sized for smaller collections and single-handed operation. These
are its boundaries, stated plainly:

 * **Record ceilings** — Each module holds up to 30 records: categories, bookcases,
   sections, branches, titles and members
 * **One title per transaction** — A checkout covers a single book; issuing several
titles together arrives in Basic PRO
 * **A fixed lending term** — Every loan runs for 30 days and cannot be adjusted;
configurable terms arrive in Basic PRO
 * **No reporting module** — Consolidated reports and statistics begin at Basic
   PRO
 * **No database diagnostics** — Integrity checks on your library tables begin at
   Basic PRO
 * **No backup or restore** — Snapshotting and recovering your library is a Basic
   PRO capability
 * **Records are handled one at a time** — Cloning, and bulk delete, activate and
deactivate across modules, begin at Basic PRO
 * **Limited data tooling** — Import and export cover the essentials; broader data
management and maintenance workflows come with the paid editions
 * **No member requests** — Members cannot submit borrow or return requests for
staff approval; available from Basic PRO
 * **No WordPress account import** — Turning existing site users into members in
   one action is Full PRO
 * **No member self-service circulation** — Self-checkout and self-return from the
frontend, with optional staff approval, are Full PRO
 * **No reservations** — Placing a hold on a title that is currently out is Full
   PRO
 * **A single administrator** — Additional Librarian and Circulation Staff roles
   are Full PRO
 * **No permission matrix** — Deciding what each role may see and do is Full PRO
 * **No automated correspondence** — Email templates and notification rules are
   Full PRO
 * **Fixed form fields** — Adding, hiding and reordering form fields is Full PRO
 * **Fixed portal wording** — Rewriting the portal’s labels and messages is Full
   PRO
 * **No commercial channel** — Selling PDFs and eBooks through WooCommerce is Full
   PRO

In short: **Basic PRO** lifts the ceilings and adds the operational tooling a busy
collection needs. **Full PRO** adds delegation, automation and member self-service
on top.

### Basic Premium Features

Basic PRO keeps every free capability and removes the constraints that hold a growing
collection back.

➜ **Unrestricted capacity** — Every record ceiling is lifted. Catalogue as many
titles, members, categories, bookcases, sections and branches as your collection
actually requires.

➜ **Multi-title checkout** — Issue several books to a member in a single transaction,
the way a real issue desk works, instead of repeating the process one title at a
time.

➜ **Lending terms you define** — Replace the fixed 30-day period with durations
that match your own policy, whether that is a fortnight for popular fiction or a
full term for reference material.

➜ **Reporting and statistics** — A dedicated reporting area that turns circulation
activity into figures you can act on and present: what is moving, what is idle,
who is overdue.

➜ **Database health checks** — Verify the integrity of your library tables and catch
structural problems before they interrupt service.

➜ **Backup and restore** — Capture a complete snapshot of your library whenever
you choose and restore it to the same site or a different one. Indispensable before
a migration, a major upgrade or end-of-term archiving.

➜ **Cloning and bulk actions** — Duplicate an existing record as a starting point,
and delete, activate or deactivate records in batches rather than individually.

➜ **Member request workflow** — Members submit borrow and return requests from their
portal; your staff approve or decline them. Convenience for the member, control
at the desk.

➜ **Extended data tooling** — Broader import, export and maintenance options than
the free edition provides.

_Reserved for Full PRO:_ WordPress account synchronisation, member self-checkout
and self-return, reservations, multi-librarian roles and permission control, automated
email correspondence, form field and portal wording customisation, and the WooCommerce
sales channel.

Contact **onlinewebtutorhub@gmail.com** to learn more about **Basic PRO**.

### Full Pro Add-ons

Full PRO is the complete system: everything above, plus the delegation, automation
and self-service capabilities larger libraries depend on.

➜ **WordPress account synchronisation** — Convert existing site users into library
members in a single action, filtered by the roles you choose, instead of re-entering
hundreds of records by hand.

➜ **Member self-checkout and self-return** — Let members issue and return titles
themselves from the frontend, with optional staff approval before anything is committed
to the ledger.

➜ **Reservations** — A member places a hold on a title that is currently out and
is first in line when it comes back, so popular works keep circulating instead of
being missed.

➜ **Delegated staffing** — Distinct Librarian, Circulation Staff and Library User
roles, so responsibilities are properly separated rather than shared through one
administrator account.

➜ **Permission control** — Decide precisely what each role may see and do, module
by module.

➜ **Automated correspondence** — Professionally designed email templates and notification
rules that keep members informed of due dates, returns and charges without manual
follow-up.

➜ **Form field management** — Add, hide and reorder the fields on your forms so
the system records exactly what your institution needs, and nothing it does not.

➜ **Interface wording control** — Rewrite every label and message in the member
portal to match your own terminology, whether that is “patron”, “member” or something
specific to your organisation.

➜ **Barcode circulation** — Generate barcodes for titles and individual copies,
issue and return by scan, and produce barcode sheets in bulk for an entire accession
run.

➜ **Graduated return charges** — Separate penalties for late returns, damaged volumes
and missing pages, rather than a single blanket fine.

➜ **Announcements** — Publish notices to members directly inside their portal.

➜ **WooCommerce bookstore** — Sell PDFs and eBooks alongside your lending collection,
using the storefront and payment gateways you already run.

## FAQ

### Is LMS plugin free of cost for lifetime?

Yes. The plugin will always be available for Free with no hidden charges. We also
offer two paid editions — **Basic PRO** and **Full PRO** — which you can buy whenever
your library needs more.

### What is the difference between Free, Basic PRO and Full PRO?

Think of it as three questions. _How large is your collection?_ Free holds 30 records
per module; Basic PRO and Full PRO have no ceiling. _How does your desk operate?_
Free issues one title per transaction on a fixed 30-day term; Basic PRO adds multi-
title checkout, lending terms you define, reporting, database health checks, backup
and restore, cloning and bulk actions. _Who else is involved?_ Full PRO brings delegation
and automation — staff roles with permissions, account synchronisation, member self-
checkout and reservations, automated email, barcode circulation, form and wording
customisation, and the WooCommerce bookstore.

### What are the limits of the free version?

Thirty records in each module — categories, bookcases, sections, branches, titles
and members — with one title per checkout and a fixed 30-day lending term. The “
Limitations of the Free Version” section above sets out every boundary and the edition
that lifts it.

### Can one title carry more than one author or language?

Yes, in every edition including Free. Both fields accept multiple values, so edited
volumes, translations, co-authored works and multi-language holdings are recorded
accurately instead of being forced into a single entry.

### Can members sign in and see their own loans?

Yes, in the free edition. Members get a portal where they search the catalogue,
review what they currently hold and what they have returned, and retrieve their
own receipts. Permission settings determine exactly which areas each member reaches.

### Can I get my data out of the plugin?

Yes, and this is free. Every listing exports to Excel, CSV or PDF, and every module
supports CSV import and export — so bringing an existing spreadsheet catalogue in
is as straightforward as taking figures out.

### Can members check out or reserve titles themselves?

Self-checkout, self-return and reservations are **Full PRO** capabilities. If you
want member convenience while keeping control at the desk, the request-and-approve
workflow in **Basic PRO** is the middle ground: members ask, your staff decide.

### Is the LMS plugin compatible with other WordPress themes and plugins?

Yes. It works with standard WordPress themes and plugins and should not conflict
with your existing setup.

### Do I need to know any coding to use this plugin?

No. **Library Management System** is built to be extremely easy to use and manage—
no coding required anywhere.

### How can I purchase a premium version of the plugin?

The plugin is free to download. To purchase Basic PRO or Full PRO, send an enquiry
to **onlinewebtutorhub@gmail.com** and you will receive a reply with the details
to proceed.

### My LMS Premium version license key is not working…

If you have license key verification issues with your premium LMS setup, please
make sure your website runs over https:// (an SSL certificate must be enabled).

### Can I use the plugin on multiple sites?

No, the license key is issued for a specific WordPress site.

### Is plugin data backup feature available?

Yes, from the **Basic PRO** edition upward. You can take a plugin data backup anytime
and restore it later to the same website or a different one.

### Do you provide support?

Yes. Our LMS support team is available at **onlinewebtutorhub@gmail.com**.

I’ve been genuinely impressed with this Library Management System plugin. The installation
was straightforward, and the interface is clean, modern, and easy to navigate. It
includes everything needed to manage a library efficiently—from books, categories,
authors, publishers, members, and issue/return management to fines, reports, and
notifications. The plugin is well-organized, performs smoothly, and offers a great
balance between functionality and usability. Even with a large collection of books,
everything remains fast and responsive. The dashboard provides a clear overview,
making daily management much easier. What stands out the most is the attention to
detail and the range of features included. Whether you’re managing a school, college,
university, or private library, this plugin provides a complete solution without
feeling overly complicated. The documentation is helpful, and the developer has
done an excellent job creating a reliable and professional product. Overall, this
is one of the best library management plugins available for WordPress. Highly recommended
for anyone looking for a powerful and user-friendly library management solution!

## Changelog

#### 3.6.8

 * **New book field — Internal Library Code:** Every book can now carry your own
classification or shelf code (for example E3.7.1 TEN) alongside its ISBN, matching
the Full PRO edition. The field is optional and sits on the Add/Edit Book form
 * **Stored on the books table:** An internal_code column is added to the books
table on upgrade, so existing catalogues keep every record and simply gain the
   new field
 * **Shown wherever a book is presented:** The code appears in the admin Book Catalog
list, in the Library User (LMS) catalogue cards, on the single book page in the
portal, in the book detail and checkout overview modals, and in the public book
detail modal. It is hidden when left blank
 * **Searchable:** The catalogue free-text filter now matches on the internal code
as well as ISBN, title, author and price
 * **Sample data includes it:** Install Sample Data now seeds an internal code for
   each demo book
 * **CSV and Excel import/export updated:** internal_code is the sixteenth column
of the books sample file and is read back on import. Re-download the sample file
before importing books — a books file with the old fifteen columns is now rejected
with a message naming the expected columns
 * **Inactive books can no longer be borrowed:** Issuing an inactive book from the
admin Borrow screen is refused, self-checkout from the public library page is
refused, and approving a pending checkout request for a book that has since been
   deactivated is refused
 * **Inactive books stay hidden from members:** Deactivated titles were already
excluded from the public catalogue, the Library User catalogue, the single book
views and the book detail modal — the borrow paths now match that, so an inactive
book is neither visible nor obtainable
 * **Public library page uses the full page width:** The /wp-library-books/ catalogue
now breaks out of narrow theme content columns on desktop, expanding up to 1600px
instead of being squeezed into the theme’s text column
 * **Four cards per row on wide screens:** With no layout preference saved, the
widened page shows four books per row from 1400px up. Cards per row set under
Settings » Library Page Layout continues to take precedence
 * **Navigate to Library Page removed from Settings:** The duplicate button has
been dropped from the Settings screen — the View Library button in the top header
   covers it on every page
 * **View Library button in the top header:** The plugin workspace now carries a
View Library button in the top header, matching the Full PRO edition
 * **One click to the public catalogue:** The button opens your public library page—
the /wp-library-books/ page holding the [owt7_library_books] shortcode — in a
new tab, so you can check how a title looks to visitors without leaving your
   work
 * **Available to every LMS role:** WordPress Admins, Librarians and Library Users
all see the button, so the public catalogue is one click away from any portal
   screen
 * **Finds the page even if it was moved:** The link resolves the catalogue page
by its slug and, failing that, by the shortcode it contains, and it is hidden
altogether when no such page exists
 * **Compact on small screens:** On tablets and phones the button collapses to its
icon, keeping the top header uncluttered
 * **Public library page rebuilt to match Full PRO:** The /wp-library-books/ catalogue
now uses the same layout, spacing and card design as the PRO edition, so the
free page no longer looks like a stripped-down version of it
 * **Theme styling can no longer bleed into the catalogue:** Every catalogue element—
filter bar, heading, book cards, covers, details, footers, buttons and pagination—
carries its own namespaced class, so themes and other plugins styling generic
names such as book-card, filter-bar or pagination can no longer alter the page
 * **Filter bar hidden while the catalogue is empty:** Category, Author and free
text filters are shown only when there is something to filter, so a library with
no books published no longer greets visitors with an empty filter row
 * **Two distinct empty states:** A library with no books explains that the catalogue
is empty and to check back soon, while a filter that matches nothing invites
the visitor to change or reset the filters — each with its own icon
 * **Pagination hidden on an empty result:** The pagination row is no longer printed
when there are no books to page through
 * **View button restyled:** The catalogue View button now matches the PRO edition—
icon and label aligned, consistent height and rounded corners, and full width
   on phones
 * **Public View settings still respected:** Cards per row, fonts, card background,
and View button colour, padding and placement continue to apply to the rebuilt
   page

#### 3.6.7

 * **Security fix — SQL injection in the list filters:** The “Books by Category”,“
Sections by Bookcase” and “Users by Branch” filters passed the selected value
straight into the database query. A signed-in user could craft that value to
read data they were never meant to see, including WordPress account records
 * **Filter values are now strictly numeric:** The selected value is validated as
a whole number the moment it is read, so all three filters are covered by a single
   check
 * **All three queries now use prepared statements:** Each filter query binds its
value through a numeric placeholder instead of building the query as text
 * **Permission check added:** The filter request now confirms the caller is allowed
to view that module — book, section and borrower lists each require their own
listing permission, so subscribers and other non-library roles are refused
 * **Module and filter pairing locked down:** Only the three intended module/filter
combinations are accepted, and the list template loaded in response is chosen
from a fixed internal list rather than from the request
 * Reported by João Ramos Maciel, coordinated through Erwan Le Rousseau of the WPScan
and Jetpack security team. Our thanks to both

#### 3.6.6

 * **Editions documented properly:** The free, Basic PRO and Full PRO feature sets
are now written out in full, so what you have and what you would gain are both
   unambiguous
 * **Upgrade to PRO screen rebuilt:** The comparison table has been restructured
into what every edition includes, where the free edition stops, and what each
paid tier adds — with every capability marked accurately

#### 3.6.5

 * **Role based login redirect:** LMS roles now land on their own page right after
   login
 * **Library User (LMS):** redirected to the Books Catalogue page
 * **Manual redirects respected:** an explicitly requested destination is never
   overridden
 * **Inactive members can sign in again:** the hard login block has been replaced
   by an in-portal restriction
 * **Inactive account notice:** a warning message is shown in the top header of
   the Books Catalogue
 * **Inactive account lockdown:** all LMS actions are blocked for inactive members;
   only browsing stays available
 * **Upload CSV Data screen:** the Download Sample Files button moved to the top,
   next to the Back button

#### 3.6.4

 * **Fully responsive plugin:** Every LMS screen now adapts cleanly to desktop,
   laptop, tablet and mobile
 * **Scoped styling namespace:** All responsive rules are applied under a dedicated
   libmns7-app parent class
 * **Mobile-friendly data tables:** Admin and Library User listings switch from
a cramped grid to readable stacked cards on phones
 * **DataTables controls on small screens:** Export buttons, the search box, page-
length selector, record info and pagination now stack full width
 * **Library User portal navigation:** The portal sidebar now opens over a dimmed
backdrop on tablet and mobile, closes on backdrop tap, on Escape, after selecting
a menu item, and locks background scrolling while open
 * **Public library page:** The /wp-library-books/ catalogue, filter bar, tabs,
pagination, single-book view and the book-detail modal are all optimised for
   phones and tablets
 * **Consistent for every role:** The same responsive behaviour applies to WordPress
Admin, Librarian and Library User screens alike
 * **Touch device polish:** Hover-lift animations are disabled on touch devices
and card, dashboard and settings grids reflow from three columns to two and then
to one as the screen narrows
 * **New My Profile page:** Clicking the profile button in the top header now opens
a dedicated LMS profile screen instead of the WordPress profile page
 * **Read-only profile view:** Shows name, username, email, role, registration date
and linked library membership details (member ID, branch, phone, gender, address,
status) with no edit or update actions

#### 3.6.3

 * **PHP 7.4 compatibility fix:** Resolved a “Composer dependencies require a PHP
version >= 8.2.0” error so the plugin runs correctly on PHP 7.4 and above
 * **Dependencies:** Pinned bundled libraries (PhpSpreadsheet and related) to PHP
   7.4-compatible versions

#### 3.6.2

 * **Motivational quote empty state:** Every admin data table now shows a clean “
No data found” panel with an icon whenever a module has no records, keeping empty
   screens professional and helpful
 * **Bottom-right quote card:** A floating motivational-quote card (with author)
appears in the corner on empty screens, auto-advancing one quote at a time with
a progress bar that tracks the timer—hover to pause, or dismiss it anytime
 * **Configurable timing:** The quote rotation interval is controlled from a single
   constant (LIBMNS_QUOTE_SLIDE_INTERVAL, default 30 seconds)
 * **Curated quote library:** A new motivational_quotes database table ships pre-
seeded with a hand-picked collection of quotes from renowned authors across categories
such as Reading, Knowledge, Motivation, Perseverance, and Wisdom
 * **Reusable component:** Added a shared, reusable empty-state renderer (available
in both PHP and JavaScript) so it can be dropped into any module that needs it
 * **Theme aware:** The empty-state panel and quote card are fully styled for both
light and dark themes and adapt to smaller screens
 * **Manage Masters Data:** New menu (placed right after Dashboard) opening a hub
of cards to manage Authors, Publications, Languages, Categories and Bookcase &
   Section from one place
 * **Authors, Publications & Languages modules:** Full listing, add, edit, view
and delete screens for each—backed by their own dedicated database tables
 * **Tag-based categories:** A book can now belong to multiple categories; the Category
field is a tag input with type-ahead suggestions, replacing the single dropdown
 * **Auto-create masters while adding books:** Authors, publications, languages
and categories typed into a book form are saved to their master lists automatically
and become available as suggestions everywhere
 * **Many-to-many relationships:** Books are linked to their authors, publications,
languages and categories through dedicated relation tables
 * **Inactive borrower login block:** Borrowers whose LMS account is set to Inactive
can no longer sign in to WordPress
 * **Inactive books hidden:** Inactive books are no longer shown in the Library
User book catalogue or the public book listing
 * **Dropdown styling fix:** Plugin dropdowns now always use the plugin’s own styling
instead of falling back to the default WordPress admin (.wp-core-ui) look

#### 3.6.1

 * **Books List author filter:** The admin Books List (Library User portal) Author
filter now lists each author individually—books saved with multiple comma-separated
authors no longer appear as a single combined option
 * **My Books & Returned Books filters:** Category and Author filter dropdowns are
now available on the My Books and Returned Books screens, shown automatically
only when the list has data
 * **Book details modal:** Inside the Borrowed and Returned book details modals,
the Book Information and Borrow & Return Information cards now sit side by side
   to save space
 * **Single book page:** Redesigned the single book details screen with a cleaner
header, status chips, and a tidy meta layout for a more professional look
 * **Book details popup:** Polished the Books List single-book modal for clearer,
   better-structured details
 * **Book cover:** Fixed the single book page cover image being stretched/cropped—
covers now display in full at their natural aspect ratio
 * **Portal navigation:** For the Library User role, clicking the portal icon or
title now goes to the Books List screen
 * **Return Book modal:** The quick Return Book modal now keeps its header and footer
fixed while the details scroll, so the actions stay in view

#### 3.6

 * **Parameterized books shortcode:** The [owt7_library_books] shortcode now accepts
optional attributes to display a pre-filtered list of specific books on any page
   or post—filter by category_id, author, and/or book_id (all comma-separated for
   multiple values), e.g. [owt7_library_books category_id=”1,2″ author=”sample”]
   or [owt7_library_books book_id=”BK-2024-001″]
 * **Shortcode reference:** The LMS Shortcode(s) settings screen now documents every
   shortcode attribute with copy-ready examples
 * **Author filter:** Books saved with multiple comma-separated authors now appear
as individual options in the public Author filter dropdown instead of a single
   combined entry
 * **Empty state:** The public catalog now shows a clear, friendly “No books found”
message with an icon when no books match the selected filters
 * **New modern UI:** A refreshed, cleaner admin interface across all library screens
for a more professional and intuitive experience
 * **Full-width admin portal:** The admin library portal now uses a full-width layout,
giving you more room to manage books, users, and reports comfortably
 * **Dark / Light theme switcher:** Instantly switch between dark and light themes
to match your preference and reduce eye strain
 * **More user-friendly workflows:** After adding a new book, branch, category,
bookcase, section, or borrower you are taken straight to its edit screen to continue
   working
 * **Codebase modernization:** Refactored to a Composer-based, PSR-4 namespaced
structure for better maintainability and reliability (fully backward compatible
   with existing installs)
 * **Library screens updated:** Tables, modals, and forms have been polished with
   improved layouts and consistent styling
 * **Various fixes & improvements:** Layout corrections, upgrade screen enhancements,
   and general stability improvements

#### 3.5.9

 * **Books:** Author(s), Publication(s), and Book Language(s) on the Add/Edit Book
form are now Bootstrap-style tag inputs—type and press Enter or comma to add
each value as a removable tag, with autocomplete suggestions from your existing
   catalogue
 * **Deactivation:** New deactivation modal on the Plugins screen—when you deactivate
LMS you can now choose to deactivate only (keep all data), download a full JSON
backup of your data first, or permanently erase all library tables and settings
   before deactivating

#### 3.5.8

 * Security: Fixed an unauthenticated SQL injection in the self-checkout AJAX handler

#### 3.5

 * **Fee receipts:** New fee receipt concept for late fines and payments—track and
issue receipts for library fees from the return list and reports
 * **Library User (LMS) role:** New dedicated user role “Library User LMS” for patrons—
restricted access to Books List, My Books, and Returned Books for a clear, role-
   based experience
 * **Book copies & accession numbers:** Support for multiple copies per book with
unique accession numbers—manage and track individual physical copies alongside
   your catalogue

   reports, and settings
 * **UI:** Updated admin and frontend styles for a cleaner, more consistent experience
   across library pages

   return and user management flows
