There are no disabled buttons and no options greyed out with a padlock. The Pro add-on below adds things this plugin does not have – more designs and dynamic content – it does not switch on something already in the box. #### Feels right under the finger * Drag to slide: slides follow the finger or the mouse and snap into place with momentum. It loads no fonts, scripts, images or tracking of any kind from a third-party server, it does not phone home, and it collects and transmits no data about your site or your visitors. Everything it renders comes from your own Media Library. There are two exceptions, and both are ones you create deliberately. If you build a video or Reels slide, or place a video widget in a section, and paste in a YouTube or Vimeo address, that video is embedded on your page, and your visitor’s browser then loads the player from that service exactly as it would for any embedded video. Nothing is sent to either service unless you make such a slide, and self- hosted MP4 files involve no third party at all. If you choose one of the plugin’s Google-hosted fonts for a slider AND set its “ Font loading” to “Load it from Google Fonts”, the stylesheet for that font is loaded from Google Fonts on pages that show the slider, which sends your visitor’s request to Google. In your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins > Add New Plugin. 2. Search for “Noyan Content Slider” and click Install Now, then Activate. 3. Open Content Slider in the WordPress admin menu. 4. Click Create slider and drop in your images. 5. Copy its shortcode into any page, post, or Elementor Shortcode widget. You can also insert a slider with the Noyan Content Slider block in the block editor, or with the Noyan Content Slider widget in Elementor. #### Installing from a zip file 1. Go to Plugins > Add New Plugin > Upload Plugin. 2. Choose noyan-content-slider.zip and click Install Now. 3. Activate the plugin, then follow steps 3 to 5 above. ## FAQ ### Is Elementor required? No. Image gallery, hero, carousel, video and Reels sliders all work without it. Only the Elementor template slider type needs Elementor, for the obvious reason that it shows Elementor templates — without it that one type says so and nothing else is affected. If Elementor is installed you also get a native Noyan Content Slider widget, so any slider can be dropped straight into an Elementor layout. ### How do I display a slider? Copy the shortcode from the slider dashboard, for example [noyan_slider id=”123″], and paste it into a WordPress Shortcode block or an Elementor Shortcode widget. You can also insert the Noyan Content Slider block, which lists your sliders in a dropdown. ### Can a slider show my latest posts or my products automatically? That is what the Pro add-on does. The free plugin builds sliders from images and content you add by hand. ### Can I make a video slider? Yes, in this plugin, at no cost. Self-hosted MP4, YouTube and Vimeo are all supported, as are Reels and Shorts — vertical video shown several at a time, each with its own shop button. Videos can be set to play automatically, always muted, because no browser will autoplay sound. ### What happens to a Pro slider if I do not renew? Nothing is deleted, and nothing breaks silently. Pro features keep working for as long as the add-on is installed; the licence controls automatic updates and support, not the features. If you remove the Pro add-on entirely, its sliders stop displaying and tell you why in the dashboard, while every slide, image and setting stays exactly where it was, ready for when Pro comes back. ### Does the plugin load anything from outside my site? Not unless you ask it to. Nothing is loaded from a third-party server by default, nothing phones home, and no data about your site or your visitors is collected or sent. Two things you can switch on do reach out, and only then: pasting a YouTube or Vimeo address into a video slide embeds that service’s player on your page, and choosing one of the Google-hosted fonts with “Font loading” set to “Load it from Google Fonts” fetches that stylesheet from Google. Both are off until you set them up. The “External services” section above describes each one. ### Can other plugins extend this one? Yes. Version 2.0.0 added a documented extension API — slider types, settings, builder panels and slide rendering are all filterable. Our developer set this up withthe Reels slider type and it does exactly that – four videos across ondesktop, one on a phone, each with a button to the shop. Looks the sameas the platform it came from, which is what we wanted. Setup was quick; it's a drag-and-drop builder, so changing the videos orthe order didn't need the developer after the first time. Autoplay ismuted, which I gather is a browser thing, not the plugin. One thing I'd like: an easier way to pull the video captions acrossautomatically. Otherwise no complaints so far. A section button can be a plain text link. #### 2.12.0 * The builder now shows only the settings the kind of slider you are building actually uses. A hero stops offering image captions and images-per-view; a video slider stops offering image ratio and fit; an Elementor slider drops nineteen controls it never touches, and the “Captions and hero text” section disappears with them. Which settings each kind uses was measured from what the plugin actually draws, not decided by hand, and then checked in a browser against pairs of real sliders differing in one setting at three screen widths. * Nothing is lost by being out of sight. A setting a kind does not show is still stored, still saved, and comes straight back if you switch that slider to a kind that uses it. * A kind of slider added by an add-on is left completely alone – it keeps every setting until its own author says otherwise – so an add-on does not need updating for this. #### 2.11.0 * “Create slider” now asks what you are building before it opens the builder. The kinds of slider are grouped by the job they do – one at a time across the page, several at a time in a row, built from your own posts – so you pick a shape rather than a name, and each one shows a drawing of itself, a link to start from scratch and a link to that kind’s ready-made designs. Nothing is created until you save, exactly as before. * The builder then opens already set to what you chose, and the seven type buttons that used to be stacked in the sidebar are one line that names the current kind with a Change beside it. Every button is still there behind it; the list simply starts closed. * The Style tab is six collapsible sections instead of twenty-six controls in one column – Colour and shape, Size and spacing, Motion, Type, Navigation, Captions and hero text. They are the same headings the site-wide defaults screen uses, so learning one teaches the other. Every setting still saves whether its section is open or shut. * Fix: “Design from scratch instead” on the Templates screen used to land on the slider list without saying anything. It goes to the new Create screen now, and remembers which kind of slider you were looking at. An old bookmark for the address it used to point at lands there too. * A slider whose kind comes from an add-on that is switched off now opens with the kind list showing and its own name spelt out, rather than looking like an ordinary gallery. * The Templates screen now says which kind it is showing when you arrive from Create–“ Showing designs for Image gallery”, with a way back to all of them – and it arrives already narrowed rather than showing everything for a moment first. #### 2.10.3 * Fix: a slider no longer loses settings that were not on the screen when it was saved. Anything the builder did not show is now kept exactly as it was, rather than being written back as the stock value – which is what happened to 46 settings, while eight switches turned themselves off, on the next save of a slider whose author had changed nothing but its name. * Fix: a slider whose type comes from an add-on survives being saved while that add-on is switched off. It used to become an image gallery, and its slide list was rewritten from a form that had never drawn one; switching the add-on back on did not bring either back. The slider now keeps its type, its settings and its slides, and the builder says plainly why it cannot be designed until the add-on returns. * Fix: settings belonging to an add-on are kept while that add-on is away. 2.10.2 did this for slides and widgets; the settings row was still being rebuilt without them, so a Pro slider’s scroll-driven motion was lost on the next save with Pro inactive. #### 2.10.2 * Fix: saving a slider while the Pro add-on is inactive no longer deletes the parts of it only Pro understands. Switch Pro off to test a plugin conflict, open a slider holding a countdown widget or a scheduled slide, change nothing but its name, save – and the countdown and the schedule were gone from the database for good, with nothing said. Anything this build cannot place is now put back exactly as it was stored. * Fix: “Stack the columns: Never” is honoured on a phone. The rule that stacks columns on a small screen predates that setting and applied to every section regardless, so a four column logo strip turned into four screens of scrolling, and the builder’s own mobile preview showed the opposite of what visitors saw. * Fix: the Preview button no longer records views and clicks against the live slider. Previewing drew the real markup, reporting included, so checking a slider inflated the Insights figures you had opened it to read. * The FAQ no longer says the plugin makes no external requests at all. It makes none on its own, but embedding a YouTube or Vimeo video, or choosing to load a Google font, does – as the “External services” section has always said. The two now agree. #### 2.10.1 * Fix: the plugin’s settings screens no longer sit hard against the admin menu. The builder, the slider list and the Go Pro page are drawn edge to edge on purpose and remove the admin gutter to do it; that was being applied to Design defaults and Templates as well, and to the Pro add-on’s own settings pages, which had no way to opt out of a stylesheet they did not ask for. #### 2.10.0 * Every starter template is a finished slider now, rather than a single slide. All thirty arrive at least three slides deep, and the slides tell a story – the hook, then the proof, then the ask – written for the trade the template is named after: a farm shop that dates its fields, a boatyard that counts the hulls off its slipway, a studio that prices its taster month. The words used to be notes to you, in the visitor’s seat: “A line about the kitchen, the room, or the wine list.” Applying a template left you with more to write than starting from nothing. Two hundred and eight slides across the library now, against a hundred and eight before, and no two templates share a headline or a button. * A slide with more than one section lays out the way you would draw it. Every section was told to grow, which is right when there is one of them and wrong the moment there are two: the slide was split down the middle and each half centred its own content, so a heading above three columns came out as two bands with a hole between them and no setting could close it. Sections now take the height they ask for and sit together; a slide with one section behaves exactly as it did. * A Preview button in the builder header. It opens the slider full screen, drawn by the front end with your theme’s stylesheet loaded, so it is what a visitor will actually see rather than the builder’s own drawing of it. It shows what is on screen now, unsaved changes included, and saves nothing. Three width buttons give the preview a real phone, tablet or desktop viewport, so you can check how it reacts before anyone else does. * Every slide in the list carries its own buttons: jump straight to its content and structure, jump to the design settings, duplicate it, or remove it. Duplicating copies the slide you pointed at rather than whichever one happened to be selected, and drops the copy directly beneath it. * The builder has colour now. What is selected, what is being edited and what can be picked up all say so in the plugin’s own green – the chosen slider type, the slide you are working on, the structure tree’s sections and columns, and every field you focus. * Widgets go where you drop them. Drag one from the toolbar above the canvas or from the Structure palette, and a green line shows exactly which gap it will land in – the top of a column, between two widgets, the end. A widget already on a slide can be picked up and moved the same way, to another position or another column, instead of being deleted and built again. Letting go in the space around the columns counts as the nearest column at the same height, so there is no narrow strip to hit. On the free canvas the same drag puts a layer down where you let go of it rather than at the next spot along. * Section slides are built the way a page builder builds them: pick a column layout first, then fill it. A blank slide offers eight layouts – one column, two equal, narrow-then-wide, wide-then-narrow, copy and a sidebar, three equal, wide in the middle, four equal – and the same picker sits under + Section for every one after that. Choosing one lays out the columns with their widths already set. * Every column can carry its own width on tablets and on phones. Switch the builder to a device and the width box edits that device; leave it at zero and it follows the wider one. A section can also be told exactly when to stack – automatically, on tablets and phones, on phones only, or never – and whether to reverse the order once stacked, which is how a picture ends up above its copy on a phone. * Section slides now answer to the space they are in rather than only to the size of the screen. Columns stack whenever the slider itself is narrow – in a sidebar, in a half-width column, in the builder’s phone preview – and the type scales down with them, against a floor so that body text never drops below reading size. Where a row gives up depends on how narrow its narrowest column would become, so a 25/75 split stacks sooner than an even pair. Sliders you already have improve without being edited. * Fix: the arrows and the pagination dots are the plugin’s own controls again on themes that style buttons. They are buttons, and a theme rule as ordinary as “. site button” out-specified this plugin’s, so on those sites the circles arrived square, in the theme’s accent colour, with no setting that put them back. * Extension API 4, for add-ons: a filter on the settings every widget shares, a filter on a widget’s wrapper attributes, a filter on a slider’s finished markup, and an inspector seam that reaches every widget. Nothing changes for the sliders you already have. This release exists so that Pro 1.6 can add its animation timeline, scroll-driven sliders, the before/after widget and Lottie animations. #### 2.9.1 * Extension API 3, for add-ons: keep your own keys on a slide when it is saved, draw above the slides, mark slides with data attributes, and give a widget of your own a real preview and inspector in the builder. Nothing changes for the sliders you already have. This release exists so that Pro 1.5 can schedule slides, show filter chips, count views and clicks, and add a countdown widget. #### 2.9.0 * Thumbnail strip: a row of the slides’ own pictures under the slider, kept scrolled to the one showing; click a thumbnail to go there. * Lightbox: gallery and carousel images without a link of their own open full size, with arrows, keyboard, swipe, a counter and the caption. Google Fonts are loaded only when you say so, because that is a request to Google on every page with the slider; otherwise the font applies if the theme already provides it. * Developers: see docs/HOOKS.md for the new registries and the data-nss-pos states a custom transition can style. #### 2.8.0 * Drag to slide. Slides now follow the finger or the mouse and snap into place with momentum, instead of waiting for the swipe to end. On by default; a setting turns it off. * Crossfade is a real crossfade: slides trade places by opacity in one spot. The old “Fade & rise” is unchanged and still available. * Ken Burns motion, a slow drift and zoom on the showing photograph. Off by default. * Autoplay progress: a bar under the slides or a fill inside the active dot, showing how long until the next slide. Hidden by default. * Each slide can hold for its own number of seconds. Set it in the slide panel; leave it blank to use the slider’s delay. * Auto height now follows the slide on show, animated, rather than fixing the viewport to the tallest slide. * Images: every media-library image is written with a srcset and a sizes attribute matched to how many slides share the row. The first slide is fetched at high priority and eagerly; slides visible at first paint are eager; the rest are lazy and are warmed one page ahead. A hero’s photograph is now an image element rather than a CSS background, so it gets all of the above and the browser’s preload scanner can see it. If you have written CSS against .nss-hero’s background-image, the photograph has moved to .nss-hero-media inside it. * A play/pause button beside the arrows while autoplay is on, so visitors who cannot hover can stop the slideshow. On by default; a setting turns it off. * Accessibility: keyboard travel moves focus into the showing slide, Home and End jump to the ends, a polite live region announces the slide number when a person moves the slider (and stays quiet under autoplay), dots are linked to the slides they show, and the slider pauses while anything inside it has keyboard focus. * Right-to-left sites: the track moves the right way, the arrows point the right way and the arrow keys are swapped. * Developers: element.noyancs exposes goTo, next, prev, play, pause and refresh; the element fires noyancs:ready and noyancs:change; window.NoyanCS.init(root) picks up sliders inserted after page load. Documented in docs/HOOKS.md. * Elementor template sliders start with a template picker instead of an image drop zone: every saved section, container and page is a card, one click makes it a slide, “Add all” makes them all slides, and each card links to its template in the Elementor editor. Elementor’s own Default Kit is no longer offered as if it were a template. * The empty canvas now speaks each slider type’s language. A carousel asks for pictures for its cards and points shop owners at Dynamic content; a video slider or reel asks for a video and adds the slide to paste the link into; every type offers “Start from a template”, which opens the template browser already narrowed to that type. * Template thumbnails are now miniatures of the templates themselves — the real headline, eyebrow and button text, the template’s own colours, and its actual layout: frames at the right ratio and column count for a gallery, cards for a carousel, a play button for video, portrait frames for reels, dashed sections for Elementor. They used to be the same dark box with a few bars whatever the template was. Still no image files in the plugin. * The template library is now 30 designs in this plugin, with every slider type and every industry represented, and 33 further industry designs shipped with the Pro add-on, where they join the same browser. Nothing is shown greyed out: a design either is in the box or is not. Sliders you already made from any template are unaffected – a template is a starting point, nothing links back to it. * Add-on authors: the template shorthand (NoyanCS_Templates::sec(), h(), btn() and friends) is now public, so an add-on can ship templates written the same way. See docs/HOOKS.md. #### 2.7.2 * The block editor’s script handle and its JavaScript data object now carry the plugin prefix like everything else. They were missed by the 2.7.0 rename, which searched for a spelling neither of them uses. #### 2.7.1 * Fixed sliders appearing unstyled and not moving on 2.7.0. The prefix rename in 2.7.0 also renamed the slider’s own CSS class, which the stylesheet and the script both still looked for, so neither found it. Only that one class was affected, and it is back to what it was — any custom CSS you have written against it keeps working. #### 2.7.0 * Renamed the plugin’s internal prefix from “nss” to “noyancs”. WordPress.org requires a prefix longer than four characters so that plugins cannot collide with one another, and three letters was not enough. Your sliders are moved to the new names automatically on update – nothing needs doing. * Admin JavaScript is now enqueued from files rather than printed into the page, which is both the documented way and one fewer thing for a caching plugin to mangle. * Add-on authors: every filter and action is renamed from nss_ to noyancs_, and the classes from NSS_ to NoyanCS_. See docs/HOOKS.md. #### 2.6.0 * Nothing in this plugin is locked any more. Video, Reels and Elementor template sliders, every animation and arrow style, caption colour and size, background overlay, the custom CSS class and all 66 starter templates were shipped in the free plugin and then withheld from it. They are all simply available now. * Dynamic content sliders moved into the Pro add-on, along with the three templates that build one. The add-on brings the code, rather than unlocking code that was already here. * A slider whose type is no longer installed explains itself instead of quietly rendering as something else. #### 2.5.2 * Corrected the WordPress.org contributor username in the readme. No change to the plugin itself. #### 2.5.1 * Pagination dots keep their shape on themes that give every button a minimum tap height. A 7px dot stretched to 44px tall rendered as a tall thin ellipse instead of a circle. #### 2.5.0 * Video and Reels sliders can now play on their own. A new Play videos automatically setting starts every video slide muted, looping and inline – muted because no browser will autoplay sound, so the two are one choice rather than two. Off by default, so nothing you have already published starts moving on upgrade. * Visitors who ask their system for reduced motion get the videos left paused, and the markup still autoplays with no JavaScript at all. #### 2.4.0 * New slider type: Reels and Shorts. Vertical video shown several at a time, each with its own shop button – paste a YouTube Shorts link into each slide and point its button at the product. * Video slides render their button. It was stored on every slide and shown on none of them, so a video slider quietly dropped the link. * Fixed hero slides ending short. Each hero sized itself to its own text, so in a slider where one headline wrapped onto an extra line, the slides with less to say showed a strip of the page underneath the photograph. #### 2.3.0 The builder, rebuilt * The builder is now a single panel on the left with Slides, Content and Design tabs, the way a page editor works. Everything that used to sit below the canvas or in a third column lives in that panel, and the preview takes the rest of the screen. * Selecting anything on the canvas opens its settings at the top of the Content tab, beside the element instead of a scroll away. * Every section, column and widget carries a pen, a duplicate and a cross. The pen opens its settings, duplicate copies it in place, the cross removes it. * Widget palette tiles respond to a click as well as a drag. * Larger type throughout the builder; a number of labels were too small to read comfortably. * The slider list has a search box, filters by slider type, and a choice between cards and rows. The view you pick is remembered. Layout control * Sections choose whether their columns sit side by side or one below the other, under Columns in the section settings. * Sections and columns have a corner radius setting, which they never had – the only radius control affected images, heroes and videos. * Navigation arrows can be placed below the slider (left, centred or right), above it, or overlaid on its left and right edges, centred on the pictures. Set per slider, or once for the whole site under Design defaults. Templates * Templates for every slider type, not just hero: image galleries, content carousels, video sliders, Elementor sections and dynamic feeds. 65 in total. * Template cards say which slider type they build, and a second filter row narrows the library by type. * Templates fill themselves with pictures that suit their subject – a food template searches the media library for food, rather than taking whatever was uploaded last. * A section slider can be started without picking a photograph first. The empty canvas offers “Start with a section”. Fixes * Pagination dots on any slider showing more than one slide at a time. There was one dot per slide, so most could never light up, and clicking one past the end jumped to the start instead of going where it pointed. Dots now represent pages. * A section’s Horizontal alignment reaches its content. A column sharing the row filled it, leaving no free space for the setting to work with, so it did nothing at all. * Stacked sections fill the slide, so vertical alignment works. Top, middle and bottom looked identical because the section was only as tall as its content. * Heading, Text, Button and Image on the toolbar add a widget when the slide uses the stacked layout, instead of silently adding a canvas layer that never appeared. * Duplicating no longer creates blocks the save would throw away – the builder now knows the same limits the sanitiser enforces. * Sliders are square by default. The corner radius defaulted to 8px, and the Spotlight template set its own 12px, so sliders came out rounded whether or not that was wanted. * New video and Elementor slides no longer start with a placeholder title, which was rendering as the slide caption on the published page. * Asset versioning: stylesheets and scripts had been served under a stale cache key since 2.0.0, so style changes never reached anyone who had visited before. #### 2.2.2 * Renamed “Image border radius” to “Corner radius”: it rounds hero sections and videos as well as images, and the old name made a rounded video slide look like a bug rather than a setting. It now says how to get square corners. * Removed a dead preview rule that hard-coded its own corner radius. #### 2.2.1 * Rebuilt the Design defaults screen: the settings are grouped into cards, sliders show their value, colours show their hex, and settings you have changed are marked. * The screen is now responsive – it collapses to one column on a tablet or phone, with touch-sized controls and a save bar that stays in reach. #### 2.2.0 * Added a Design defaults screen: set your house style once and every new slider starts from it.
