## Description

QuickCut Booking is an appointment plugin for small service businesses — barbershops,
hair & beauty salons, barbers, stylists and one-chair shops.

QuickCut does one thing well: let your customers book a time, fast, from any device—
and keep your calendar tidy.

**[Try the live demo](https://quickcut-booking.duckdns.org/)** — a working barbershop
running this plugin, nothing installed and no sign-up. Book an appointment and see
exactly what your customers would see, including the confirmation email.

**Why shop owners pick QuickCut**

 * **5-minute setup.** Sensible defaults out of the box — add a service, add yourself,
   paste one shortcode.
 * **Fast & lightweight.** Loads only on the page with the booking form. No jQuery,
   no bloat.
 * **Mobile-first booking.** A clean 3-step form your clients can finish in seconds
   on a phone.
 * **GDPR-friendly.** No external Google Fonts, no third-party CDNs — everything
   is self-hosted.
 * **Multiple staff & services.** Let clients pick a specific barber or “anyone”.
 * **Multiple locations.** Run several shops, each with its own address, contact
   details and opening hours.
 * **Email confirmations.** Automatic confirmation to the customer, plus an alert
to you and the assigned staff member.
 * **One-click cancel & reschedule.** Customers get secure links in their confirmation
   email; no phone tag.
 * **Phone & walk-in bookings.** Add a booking yourself from the admin — same conflict-
safe engine as the online form.

**Free forever core**

The free plugin is fully functional — services, staff, multiple locations, availability,
bookings, email, opening hours and an admin dashboard.

**QuickCut Pro** _(optional upgrade)_

 * 💳 Card **deposits** with Stripe to stop no-shows
 * 📲 **SMS reminders**
 * 📅 **Google Calendar** two-way sync
 * ⏰ **Per-staff working hours**, days off and breaks
 * 📈 **Revenue reports**

## Installation

 1. Upload the `quickcut-booking` folder to `/wp-content/plugins/`, or install through
    the Plugins screen.
 2. Activate the plugin.
 3. Go to **Booking Services** and **Booking Staff** to add yours (a demo service
and staff member are created for you).
 4. Set your opening hours in **Booking Locations**.
 5. Create a page and add the shortcode `[quickcut_booking]`.

## FAQ

### Can I see it working before installing?

Yes — there’s a live demo at https://quickcut-booking.duckdns.org/. It’s a real
WordPress site running this plugin with no customisation, so what you see is what
you get. Book whatever you like: the demo never sends email (confirmations appear
on the page instead) and it wipes every booking at the top of each hour.

### Does it work without a page builder?

Yes. Add the `[quickcut_booking]` shortcode to any page or post.

### Can customers pick a specific barber?

Yes — if you add more than one staff member, customers can choose a person or “Anyone”.

### Is my data sent anywhere?

No. All fonts and assets are self-hosted and bookings stay in your own database.

### Can I take payment?

Deposits and full payment via Stripe are part of QuickCut Pro.

## Changelog

#### 1.4.1

 * Fixed: a customer who picked a specific staff member could book them for a service
that staff member doesn’t perform — the booking went through and landed in the
calendar. Choosing “Anyone” was never affected. The booking form now shows only
the staff who perform the selected service, and the server rejects the pairing
regardless of what is submitted. Shops where everyone does everything are unaffected.

#### 1.4.0

 * New: once QuickCut has taken five bookings for you, it asks — once — whether
you’d leave a review on WordPress.org. It only ever appears on QuickCut’s own
admin pages, and dismissing it is permanent.
 * New: the first time you mark a booking as a no-show, QuickCut mentions that Pro
can take a card deposit up front. Also shown once, also dismissible for good,
and never on the same screen as the review request.
 * Fixed: the customer reschedule page loaded its stylesheet with a hand-written
tag rather than through WordPress’ own style queue.

#### 1.3.0

 * New: Admins can add a booking directly from Booking Bookings (phone/walk-in)—
the same conflict-safe engine as the public form, without the advance-notice
   wait a walk-in customer can’t wait through.
 * New: Customers can reschedule their own appointment from a link in their confirmation
   email, without contacting you.
 * New: Gutenberg block (“QuickCut Booking Form”) alongside the `[quickcut_booking]`
   shortcode.
 * New: No-show status, alongside Confirmed/Cancelled/Completed — reclassify a booking
without cancelling it or losing a deposit already taken (Pro).
 * Fixed: two customers booking the same slot within moments of each other could
both get confirmed into it. Booking creation now resolves that race instead of
just checking availability and then inserting.
 * Fixed: near midnight, the lead-time cutoff could wrap past 24:00 and silently
reopen the rest of today’s already-past slots.
 * Fixed: the confirmation email and its calendar attachment said “confirmed” even
when a shop’s auto-confirm setting left the booking pending.
 * Fixed: a shop-wide time-off block always applied to the default location, even
when a different one was selected.
 * Fixed: staff members never received their own notification of a new booking —
   only the site admin did.
 * Fixed: an invalid colour value on a service could be stored as blank instead
of falling back to the default.

#### 1.2.0

 * New: Multiple locations. Run several shops from one dashboard, each with its
own address, contact details and opening hours.

#### 1.1.0

 * New: Time-off / blocked periods (holidays, sick days, lunch breaks) per staff
   or shop-wide.
 * New: Weekly calendar view in the admin.
 * New: Buffer time between appointments for clean-up / prep.
 * New: .ics “add to calendar” file attached to confirmation emails.
 * New: GDPR consent checkbox (configurable text + privacy link).
 * New: Honeypot spam protection on the booking form (no CAPTCHA needed).
 * New: Staff photo and specialty shown on the booking form.

#### 1.0.0

 * Initial release: services, staff, availability engine, bookings, email confirmations,
   opening hours, admin dashboard.
