## Description

Rampsight Accessibility reads the pages of your site in a real browser and lists
the WCAG 2.2 A/AA failures it finds (missing alternative text, unlabeled form fields,
low contrast, keyboard traps in menus…), with a 0–100 score and guidance on how
to fix each one.

**Free:** a 10-page check of your site, on demand, straight from Tools Accessibility.
No account.

**With a Rampsight plan (from €19/month):** weekly re-scans of up to 300 pages,
alerts when something regresses, a shareable report, and a hosted **Accessibility
Statement** — the document the European Accessibility Act (in force since 28 June
2025 for online shops and services sold to EU consumers) expects you to publish.
Connect your site with an API key and the results appear in wp-admin.

**What this plugin is not:** a certification. Automated checks find many accessibility
failures, never all of them. Rampsight is monitoring, and it never claims your site
is “compliant”.

#### This plugin uses an external service

This plugin is an interface to the Rampsight service at https://rampsight.com. The
checks run on Rampsight’s servers (a real browser opens your site’s public pages).
Data sent, and when:

 * **Free check** — only when an administrator clicks “Check this site”: the public
address of this site. The result is stored on Rampsight for 30 days and available
   at an unguessable link.
 * **Connected account** — only when an administrator connects an API key: the key(
stored in this site’s options) is sent with each request to read the monitored
site’s results; “Run a scan now” asks Rampsight to crawl the site’s public pages.

Nothing is sent automatically or in the background, and no visitor data of your
site is involved. Terms: https://rampsight.com/legal/terms · Privacy: https://rampsight.

## Installation

 1. Upload the plugin or install it from the directory, then activate it.
 2. Go to **Tools Accessibility** and click **Check this site** for a free 10-page
    check.
 3. For weekly monitoring and the accessibility statement: create an account at https://
rampsight.com, add this site, create an API key (Settings API), and paste it under**
    Connect**.

## FAQ

### Does the free check need an account?

No. It sends only the public address of your site, and the result lives at an unguessable
link on rampsight.com for 30 days.

### Does the plugin change my site?

No. It reads results and shows them in wp-admin. Fixing a failure is done in your
theme, plugins or content — the “How to fix” links explain each rule.

### Is my site “compliant” after the score is high?

No tool can promise that. Automated testing covers a part of WCAG; the rest (keyboard
flow, screen-reader experience, plain language) needs a person. The score tells
you how much of the detectable part is fixed.

### Where is the accessibility statement?

On a Rampsight plan, the statement is written in the Rampsight dashboard and hosted
at a public link you add to your footer.
