Dashboard
- Quick Actions — Up to four shortcut buttons at the top of the dashboard. New Post and New Page are set up for you; change the label, link and icon of each, and drag to reorder.
- At a Glance — Published posts, pages, registered users and pending comments, each with a 7-day trend. Also shows how many images in your Media Library are missing alt text, and page views for the last 30 days when view tracking is on.
- Page Views — Separate Posts and Pages panels with a line chart, a trend compared with the previous period, and your most-viewed content. Switch between the last 7, 30 or 90 days.
- Updates — Plugin and theme updates with one-click Update and Update All buttons. Your active theme is highlighted when it has an update, and WordPress itself can be updated from System Overview.
- Recent Comments — Approve, mark as spam or trash pending comments without leaving the dashboard. Likely spam is flagged for you.
- System Overview — A Site Health score, disk and memory usage, server details, and the full Site Health report (Critical, Recommended and Passed) in one click.
- Recent Users, Login Activity and Recent Activity — The newest users, recent logins and failed login attempts, and a feed of recent site events.
- Light and dark mode — Each user picks their own, from a switch in the dashboard header.
Customize it
- Choose what appears — Show or hide each dashboard section and banner. Hidden sections skip their database queries, so the dashboard loads faster too.
- Accent colour — Purple, Blue, Teal, Green, Orange or Slate.
- Widgets from other plugins — Hide dashboard widgets added by plugins such as WooCommerce or Elementor.
- Back to standard — Turn the custom dashboard off at any time to get the normal WordPress dashboard back.
Private page-view tracking
- Counts visits to your posts and pages in your own WordPress database — no cookies and no third-party services.
- Adds a sortable Views column to your Posts and Pages lists, so you can find your most-read content.
- Choose which post types to track, whether logged-in visits count, and how long data is kept (30 days to forever).
Site-wide comment switch
- Disable all comments closes comments and pingbacks everywhere, hides existing comments on your site and removes the Comments menu. Nothing is deleted, so turning it off brings everything back.
Privacy
Admin Dashboard Shortcuts does not send any data to outside services and does not set cookies. It stores the following in your own WordPress database:
- Page views — one row per post per day with a view count. No visitor details (IP address, browser or user ID) are stored.
- Login activity — the time of each user’s last login, and the username and IP address of the last 20 failed login attempts, shown in the Login Activity panel.
All of this data is deleted when you delete the plugin.
Some buttons open outside sites, but only when you click them: PageSpeed opens Google PageSpeed Insights for your homepage, and the review and Pageschema Studio links open WordPress.org.

FAQ
-
Where does Admin Dashboard Shortcuts appear?
-
It replaces the standard WordPress Dashboard page with one screen: Quick Actions, At a Glance, Page Views, Updates and Recent Comments in the main column, and System Overview, Recent Users, Login Activity and Recent Activity in the sidebar.
-
Can I go back to the standard WordPress dashboard?
-
Yes. Under Settings Admin Dashboard Shortcuts General, turn off “Use the Admin Dashboard Shortcuts dashboard” and save. The core WordPress widgets come back straight away, and your settings are kept.
-
Can I choose what the dashboard shows?
-
Yes. On the Customize tab you can show or hide each section and banner and pick an accent colour. Widgets added by other plugins, such as WooCommerce, can be hidden on the Widgets tab.
-
Can I update plugins and themes from the dashboard?
-
Yes, with one-click Update and Update All buttons. The exception is Admin Dashboard Shortcuts itself: update it from Plugins Installed Plugins, because a plugin updating itself from its own screen can be deactivated.
-
Is view tracking private?
-
Yes. Visits are counted in your own WordPress database; no cookies are set and nothing is sent to an outside service. Your own visits while logged in aren’t counted unless you turn that on, and data is kept for 90 days by default (you can change this, or keep it forever).
-
How do I turn off comments on my whole site?
-
On the General tab, turn on “Disable all comments”. Comments and pingbacks close everywhere, existing comments are hidden and the Comments menu is removed. Nothing is deleted, so turning it off brings everything back.
